In an effort to get my ferritin and iron levels up, I started making chicken liver pate last week and have discovered that I am now absolutely addicted to it it's so delicious! 🤣😋
That is absolutely correct. Vitamin A toxicity is a real danger to be avoided.
Here are two results from a quick google search with good info. The second link is really visual and helpful in getting a grip on how much A foods have vs how much we need.
A is in many daily foods we eat. Therefore it’s a lot easier to get too much than you’d think. Plus Vit A is a fat soluble vitamin, and our bodies do not excrete excess. It is stored.
The only vitamin which is known to cause a testing problem is biotin. Others might, of course, affect the result - such as taking B12 would often see a raised B12 result - if they themselves are being tested.
Maybe don't spend the rest of the evening eating pate? And skip it for breakfast.
Chicken liver can be a great source of many nutrients, the only thing I would note (apart from the vitamin A that has been mentioned) is that I would try to buy organic chicken liver (Waitrose stocks them) - less heavy metals (cadmium/arsenic) and antibiotics.
