Follow up test

Hello good evening. I have, since my previous consultation here, been on 100 levo and 15 lio in 3 go s. But, I was having diarrhea all the time and went back to 10 in 2 doses 3.5 weeks ago. Also the folate i stopped because of feeling very unwell. Even the methylated one.

Now, T panel has been done again and i m seeing my doctor again on Monday.

I feel alright, not great but alright, but I don't know that much about the results.

My joints and muscles hurt. I don't know if it's the meds or...i just don't.

I live sedentary, tired, with neuropathic pains because of my medical history.

I took the test early morning, and keep a very close eye on my other meds and the exact time of taking those in.

So...am I correct that increasing T4 would be a good thing? I weight 112 kg.

Thank you in advance

FT4: 19.1 pmol/l (Range 11 - 24) 62.31%

FT3: 4.8 pmol/l (Range 3.7 - 6.1) 45.83%

I can't see that increasing levo would be a good move when your FT3 is so low. Was this test on 10 or 15 mcg T3? I doubt if the T3 was responsible for your diarrhea.

No point in testing rT3, it's irrelevant. There are many, many causes of high rT3 and only one of them has anything to do with thyroid. And that's when the FT4 is too high in range. And that's far from being your case.

No point in just taking one isolated B vit because they all work together and need to be kept balanced. You would probably have been better off with a good methylated B complex. How is your B12?

Hello, The test was done on 10 mg 2 weeks in.

I stopped and the extreme bm went away almost promptly. My B12 was not tested the same day but around 500-ish a month ago. I can look that up of course.

Should I look for a methylated complex then? Go back on 15 mg lio?

I value the advise given here a lot. Thank you so much.

Well, on 10 mcg T3 your FT3 is very low. I can't imagine increasing your levo is ever going to make up the difference. If it were me, I'd try 15 mcg again and see if the 'extreme BMs' return.

Yes, if you folate is low, and a B12 of 500-ish is not high either, then getting a methylated B complex would be a good idea. Try it at least, and see if you tolerate the folate better when taken along with all the other Bs.

Well, given how little the majority of doctors know about thyroid, I don't imagine it'll be anything useful. :(
