hello all, I have recently gone back to NHS endo from privately and in a different area to where I was previously. The endo wants me to come off all thyroid medication slowly as she doesn’t think I have any problems with my thyroid as back in May 2022 my TSH was 5. I have to say the appointment was not successful and unfortunately while I understand how to read results when you guys interpret and explain, I find it hard to verbalise and she completely took me by surprise at her negativity and indifference. She even said why would you want to check your thyroid with a scan as eventually you will find something 🙄. Here are my private blood results from 2022, which were taken fasting and at the time I was not on any medication. Please could you let me have you views, in very simple terms, so, I can email the endo. Many thanks 🤩
TSH 3.99 - (0.27-4.2)
free T3 3.78 - (3.1-6.8)
Free Thyroxine - 11.6 (12-22)
Thyroglobulin antibodies 349 (<115)
Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies <9.0 (<34)
Edit -
I have used the calculator showing the following
TSH 3.99 mIU/L (0.27 - 4.2) 94.7%
Free T4 (fT4) 11.6 pmol/L (12 - 22) -4.0%
Free T3 (fT3) 3.78 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 18.4%
T4:T3 Ratio 3.069
Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb) 349 IU/mL
so, sorry to keep harping this point, based purely on these test results, which were taken at a time of NO medication and in accordance with testing protocol could you say if you think I did or did not have hypo at the time they were taken. This is purely to go back to the Endo with my own findings, as she is saying as the NHS test showed TSH of 5 I was not hypo at that time and should never have embarked on medication. And she was aware that I had half of my thyroid removed some 5 months earlier. Many thanks ☺️

Thanks SlowDragon, so in your opinion would you think that I do have hypothyroidism from these blood tests.
I did have a scan in 2021 and it found cancer resulting in my left thyroid being removed in January 2022.
My vitamins were ok at this date and in this post I was hoping I could get a interpretation of the result back in 2022 so I could email the endo and explain why I believe I have hypo and should not be reducing my level of medication.
I have turned my medication on its head and am currently on 75 mg T4 and will test again mid January to see what’s happening.
I will post more on my current position after my next blood test in January. In the meantime, do you think the blood test results in 2022 show I was or wasn’t hypo at that time? Many thanks
I would’nt stop taking it because you are definitely hypothyroid. Most people with a normal functioning thyroid have a TSH of 1 or lower yours is much too high.
