I’m taking the step of self supplementing and don’t know where to start? Note I’m undiagnosed, not taking medication, female 62 thank you

vitamin d and b suggestions please
Have you checked your current levels?
Vit D always with K2 MK7 a sublingual works well like Nature Provides, aiming for 125nmol/L.... grassrootshealth.net/projec...
Couple of good B complexes Thorne Basic B (1 large capsule) or Igennus Super B (1 or 2 small tablets)
ALWAYS test first
Monitor my health do quite good testing packs to check your nutrient levels, the full health screen also tests iron (& ferritin), folate, Vit B12 and Vitamin D. There is a thyroid and cholesterol test included as well, but it works out cheaper than getting the anaemia kit and the Vit D separately for testing your nutrients only. Besides, if you are suspecting subclinical hashi's, the thyroid panel will get you extra information as to where your levels are, so might be worth investing. If you enter the code THYROIDUK10, you get 10% off the test at check out.
Once you know your nutrient status, you can target the specific nutrients you will need - no point in supplementing when you are not deficient. However, if you are, it will also give you a good baseline to see your progress and where you need to be.
Magnesium is also a good supplement to take, as it assists with processing Vitamin D as well as the B-vitamins, so worth looking into that (and many people are deficient). Good bioavailable forms of magnesium are Mg citrate (can be laxative in certain people), Mg glycinate, Mg taurate, Mg L-threonate or Mg malate.
thank you for your detailed post. I’m working myself up to thinking about the test. It’s difficult to get motivated when you keep things you’ve found a solution and then get dismissed. It’s easier just to lay low sometimes when drs think you’re an hysterical, anorexic menopausal woman of a certain age. Only one of those is true as I’m 62 and on HRT 😂. Even family are fed of me as most symptoms are invisible to them, I get more sympathy for a splinter they can see. Thanks again
you've said "tests on thyroid gave diagnosis of sub clinical" do you have the actual results? TSH, FT4 (and FT3 if they did it) and any other results of blood tests that have been done.
...anorexic...Have you lost a lot of weight?
In Feb 23 I lost 16 pounds in three weeks without Sickness and diarrhoea and eating normally. When cancer was not found the dr suggested I was an hysterically anorexic. I didn’t mind losing it as at 5’1” nearly 10 stone was too much and my weight has stayed at the new 8 stone 8 ever since then.
The reason I ask is that unexplained weightloss is a symptom of B12d. Lots of other symptoms could be thyroid or B12d, and you can have symptoms that you don't realise are symptoms. E.g vertigo. I know I did.It would be worth testing B12 before you take any supplements, as once you start it can mask the problem, by increasing your levels. B12d can be autoimmune, and if so may need injections rather than oral supplementation.
Interesting as I do have dizzy spells upon standing which was said to be low blood pressure. I have been prescribed Prochlorperazine for it but use it rarely. My known rheumatoid condition is AI and I have other AI associated conditions such as Lichen Sclerosus, dry eyes and Deputryens contracture for example . Thanks again for your useful advice.
Have you been tested for SLE (Lupus - ANA blood test)? the symptoms are very similar to thyroid problems and is also an Auto-immune problem, as is Hashimoto's.
