Have you checked your B12 and folate levels recently Soaping?

I don’t take Thorne Basic B daily at the moment, just x 3 week (since my levels became optimal after taking it daily for 6 months). It’s a good idea to check key vitamins that support thyroid health (ferritin, folate, B12 and vit D) at least once a year to see if any supplements need to be adjusted. My urine is somewhat fluorescent with the B complex but hasn’t developed an odour.

I've taken Thorne for a long time so no. Its a symptom of a UTI. I would ask for an appointment at your GPs. They will need a sample of your urine... First thing in the morning is best so they can test for what type of UTI and give you the correct antibiotic. If you get it repeatedly then it's worth looking into high dose tablets of cranberries... Not the juice not strong enough. This can make the environment in the bladder unsuitable for UTI to flourish and can prevent but not cure an infection.

Hope you get sorted soon. .

Hi, thank you for your reply. I had a UTI a couple of months ago, I wonder if it went away. Im not having the sane symptoms as b4? Best to get it checked then again 🤔

Ahhh.... Poor you. Yes get checked & once sorted look at high cranberry tablets. Research was indicating that it makes the bladder environment impossible for the little so & so to get a hold. Worth a try...

I got these in Greece and they worked very well indeed. I have not seen them in the UK with such a concentrated level. Now in the UK I use D-Manoose recommended by Charlie-Farley . Work like a charm. Only two incidents since using this. It’s in the cupboard now.

Hi, I did have another UTI, was given the usual 3 day course of antibiotics but ive bought some D-Manoose and probotics for that area so fingers crossed. Have a lovely day all xx

In future at the first sign use it because it can stop the infection getting a hold in the first place. As you say fingers crossed.

Google throws up quite a few references to B vitamins, especially B6 causing urine to smell but there are, of course, other reasons:

nhs.uk/conditions/smelly-ur...

ouassociates.com/posts/urol...

livestrong.com/article/2838...

webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/ss/...

I remember when I started a B Complex, I was seeing Dr Peatfield at the time, and I asked him why my urine would be bright yellow and smell of puffed wheat. He said it was the B Complex.

Thorne Basic B contains 10mg B6 which is the amount recommended not to exceed for regular supplementation. If you've just started a new bottle I wonder if there might be a bit more than usual in it.

You could stop your B Complex for a few days and see if it helps, if the smell goes then reintroduce it, you'll soon know if it's the culprit.
