I was discharged by Endocrinology for my overactive thyroid a good while ago and I am just waiting for my appointment date to have my bloods done again to check my thyroid... as of the last 2/3 days I have been having a constant pain and discomfort in the front of my neck (where your thyroid gland is).. I am flaring with my Fibromyalgia as well but another symptoms I have not have to this degree is a very fast heart beat..
Any suggestions?

What is your diagnosis and the reason for your overactive thyroid ?
Were you prescribed an Anti Thyroid y medication and has this now been stopped ?
Can you please share your initial blood tests at diagnosis and the antibodies found in your blood stream which gave cause to your diagnosis - and can you share your discharge blood test results and ranges -
there is nothing on your profile page about your thyroid health and forum members need to know a little bit about what has been going on to try and help and understand where you are in your thyroid journey,
Hi, I honestly wish I could tell you so that I could understand better myself and get advice from other members. I have not been told any of my blood results or anything of that kind just simply that I have an over active thyroid. I have not been put on any medication either. I do infact have my blood test today (10 Nov 2024) and as soon as I get my results I will let you know. I do know that I have to have routine blood tests for my thyroid.
I hope this answers your questions as well PurpleNails
What are members most common cause of overactive thyroid?
My sister told me of a family friend having her thyroid removed because it was overactive and now she has an underactive thyroid and has to have medication. Anybody experienced this before?
Maybe you need to be on a beta blocker for this fast heart rate you are experiencing ?
Why not register for online access at your surgery - if you haven't already - and then you can see all your medical records held there - and we can try and explain things to you :
If you have been taking - or still taking medication - what medicines were theses ?
Looking back I see you lost 3 stone relatively quickly and unintentionally - weight loss is a symptom of an over active thyroid - and the thyroid gland is situated in the front part of the neck at the front - so possibly your thyroid is enlarged and causing these symptoms.
You have a lot going on but we can't help without having more information.
