oh gurus…. What would you do… I have some NP Thyroid which expired Oct/24… how much longer would you risk using them for?
(back story: they sent a very short date bottle but I got most of my money back… so I’m not out of pocket)

It cannot be a good thing to take out of date medicines. But the day after expiry is pretty obviously not an issue!
There are many posts here where members have discussed taking out of date medicines and, most of the time, the worst that will happen is that they will have lost a bit of potency. (For some medicines, the issues can be much more significant.)
If you end up compensating by slightly increasing your dose, when you return to full potency, in date, medicine, you could find yourself slightly over-dosed.
Careful storage is always advised. After all, the expiry dates should have been set with very limited assumptions about storage conditions. If you do better than those, it will likely last longer without significant problems. That is, cool, dark, dry conditions.
I would take them & finish them. I have taken out of date NDT in the past without a problem, they are not far out of date anyway.
I think you could easily take them for the rest of this year and not notice any difference. Medicines like this don't lose potency overnight.
They seem to change colour if they "go off". In desperation I have taken some 10 months out of date and they were fine.
Lynneypin,
Your meds are only literally just out of date and will last a good time yet.
As serenfach says the pills eventually go lighter and mine went more powdery. I’ve used out-of-date NDT by nearly a year and expected to have to take a higher dose but didn’t noticed anything.
