I’ve since had some more blood tests and was hoping if anyone would be able to help me with these:
TSH 3.3 (range 0.35 to 4.94)
T4 11.5 (range 9.0 to 19.1)
T3 4 (2.4 to 6.0)
The main symptom I had before was joint pain and stiffness which had eased although am starting to feel it again now - could this be related to my thyroid based on these recent results? The tests were done a few weeks ago.
In my notes the results are showing as ‘normal - no action’, so am just trying to work out whether the pain is related to my thyroid or something else.
Many thanks in advance 🙂

What time of day was this test taken? Highest TSH is at 9am or earlier, TSH varies throughout the day.
Have you got your vitamin levels tested yet as per this recent reply to you? Start a new post when you have the results. healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
Its quite likely your symptoms are thyroid related and may have been triggered by childbirth which is not uncommon.
Your levels have gone from hyper to hypo and now levelling off again. Would recommend testing in 3 months as per the protocol:
Test at 9am (or as close as possible), fasting & no biotin containing supplements for 3-7 days (Biotin can interfere with thyroid blood results as it is used in the testing process).
Testing like this gives consistency in your results and will show stable blood levels of hormone and highest TSH which varies throughout the day.
Thanks for your reply 🙂 The test was taken at 8.50am and I only had water before the test. I’m not on any medication at the moment either.
Haven’t had my vitamins tested yet but have an appointment with the doctor this afternoon so will request them again then and post here when I get the results.
I didn’t have any symptoms when I had the test a few weeks ago either. They seem to come and go every couple of months or so.
I’ve had a thyroid peroxidase ABS test, the results were - > 1000.0 iu/mL (normal range 0 to 5.5).
I asked my doctor today about getting my vitamins tested and apparently these were done in June and were fine then. I have had anemia many times over the years but was on supplements while I was pregnant which is probably why my levels were ok in June. Apparently my vitamin d was ok too, but again, I was told to take supplements throughout my pregnancy. I stopped taking the vit d and iron once my baby was born in March.
I mentioned that I was beginning to get some joint pain again and asked my doctor whether this could be thyroid related but she said probably not as the pain would be there constantly and not come and go.
Do you have a copy of your June vitamin blood results that you can share with us? You are legally entitled to a printed copy of your results, ask at GP reception. In England you can get the NHS app and ask for permission to see your blood results on that by asking at GP’s reception.
Often GPs tell us our results are OK or normal but they can be far from optimal which is where we need them to be.
With positive antibodies you have Hashimoto's which is the autoimmune form of hypo. Results can change quite a bit in a short space of time especially following childbirth.
I’ve just thought of something else I wanted to ask sorry, are swollen lymph nodes common with hypothyroidism? I have one under my arm which comes and goes and can be quite achy and painful at times.
