I know to take Levo on an empty stomach, but how long do you recommend to leave between food and T4?
I usually take mine before bedtime (10.30pm), but I run into problems because I like to have the odd glass of wine at night. I assume this will interfere with absorption? What is the latest I can eat or drink?
I take B12, B complex, D3, K, Selenium and Myo-inositol in the morning, after my breakfast. Does that sound okay?

So maybe wine could be okay. That's helpful, because I don't think it'd be very good at having to wait for breakfast. It makes sense there could be a difference between different types of wine etc. Is there any research on other drinks, herbal teas for example?
Usually have dinner between 18:00 and 20:00. And take my levothyroxine around 23:00 to 24:00. But that doesn't always mean there is a three hour gap! I might have something, sometimes.
But I think the important thing is a) I usually have at least two hours gap; b) I know there can be an issue.
(Have to say, for a moment I was thinking about you having the levothyroxine at bed-time but the wine for breakfast... )
Hi there. I take mine in the morning when I get up, then go for a shower and get dressed. I try to leave 1 hour after taking my meds, before I have breakfast. You could get away with 1/2 an hour though.
Hi dandelions, I stopped taking levo 10 months ago my heart palpitations have stopped, I no longer stop breathing in my sleep, my joint swelling and pain are gone unless I eat something I shouldn't, I'm less lethargic I'm not cured, but I feel a hell of alot better than I did.
Be careful with supplements, I had a dangerously high level of selenium from supplement . It was less than half the rda, but sometimes the content can be alot higher than what it says on the bottle, so my doctor said.
I get my selenium from Brazil nuts now.
I have supplements, but I take them randomly. I try to eat the foods that contain high levels of what I need, just using the supplements as just that, to supplement.
This is my experience with levo. It's an individual experience with many factors to consider. I have ndt on standby in case my levels plummet, but my last blood tests were very similar levels as taking the levo.
I will persevere to try to find a balance for my own needs, mine is a long story.
