Latest thyroid results and finally think I'm getting the hang of this

After a disastrous fling with 2 grains or armour which a private doc moved me to (no titrating), I stopped all thyroid meds for 2 weeks. I introduced armour at 1/4 grain on 24/8/24 and titrated to 1/2 grain a week later, a week after that I started to feel unwell again, I now realise it was possibly because I needed to up the dose but instead I moved to 1.5 Metavive 2 (I've tolerated metavive well in the past). I continued on this including 1 adrenavive per day and had another blood test (cannot recommend MMH highly enough) on 11/9/24. I'm feeling pretty good, in fact the best I've felt for a while, I still have occasional afternoon episodes but bowels and brain seem to be moving in the right direction. Here are my most recent blood tests and I'd be grateful for any input regarding what I should do now, ie. continue for a few more weeks on this dose or increase?

After 2 grains for 3 weeks then titrating down to 1/4 grain for 1 week: over 7 week period:

Same ranges for all tests

TSH 0.025 (0.27-4.2)

T3 4.9 (3.1-6.8)

T4 10.4 (12-22)

After stopping all thyroid meds for 2 weeks:

TSH 2.58

T3 4.1

T4 12

Latest results on 1/4 armour then 1/2 armour and now 1.5 metavive2 over 3 week period:

TSH 0.32

T3 5.2

T4 11.9

I understand that I'm testing frequently but it's the only way I can get an idea of what's happening and I really want to make this work.

But you're not going tp get any real idea what's happening by testing so often because the doses don't have time to settle That last test is meaningless and tells you nothing of any value.

Sorry but I think you are entering a "more haste less hurry" situation.

Thyroid replacement hormone must be taken as a regular, steady dose for at least 6 weeks before test results are reliable.

3 weeks is too soon!

You say, I understand that I'm testing frequently but it's the only way I can get an idea of what's happening

No it isn't! The results you are receiving after 3 weeks are unhelpful.

You need to settle on a dose, hold it for 6 weeks then do a full thyroid test to include....

TSH, FT4, FT3, vit D, vit B12, folate, ferritin and thyroid antibodies TPO and Tg.

Based on these results you can start to work out what to do....it's a long slow tiresome process but the most reliable way to succeed. You are wasting time and money otherwise.....I've been there in the past!

Post new labs for advice.

Good luck
