Are these beneficial/safe to take with levothyroxine for hypothyroidism?
I'm thinking of taking these for insomnia and feeling low.
I've looked online and it doesn't seem like there are any interactions but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience & if they're beneficial or a waste of money?

Quite likely a waste of money when you're only on 50mcgs Levo. better to fix your thyroid levels and key vitamins and symptoms will begin to reduce then.
I take 5-HTP but not CBD. I first started taking 5-HTP at a dose of 50mg at night all the way back in 2011. I started taking thyroid hormones in 2013. I still take the 5-HTP at a dose of 50mg at night. I've never noticed it having an effect on my thyroid hormones.
It helps slightly to make me relax, but I don't think it has had a major impact on my sleep. I take it mostly as a mild anti-depressant which gives me no side effects, unlike the ones that doctors prescribe.
Thanks humanbean. I used to take 5-HTP for the same reason you’re taking it but I took it in the morning. I do have trouble sleeping so am looking for ideas for nighttime.
I take CBD but not 5-HTP. And it definitely helps some things that thyroid hormone replacement doesn't. Not sure it helps with sleep, but then I never have trouble with that, anyway. It helps more with my nervous system.
You should never take anything at the same time as your levo. Everything should be at least two hours away from levo for optimal absorption. And, of course, these things cannot replace levo. You will still need an increase in dose - several, probably, over time. But that does not make them a waste of money. Try them and see.
If you Google Hubermann and sleep you will find some advice which I follow. Magnesium threonate is helpful to me and is considered safe by many people.
