Hello Nicole,
Yes you can take them together at the same time.
I have Hashi, am medicating on T4 & T3 and started on 50 mg 5-HTP x 3 times a day a while ago. At first it seemed to help me sleep but lately I have experienced internal tremors so have just reduced dose to 50 mg a day.
Many members have experienced good results from 5HTP. Others recommend melotonin which I haven't tried.
Even my endo said he took 5HTP.
Good luck,
Flower
Hiya what has it hoped improve for you?
hello Amber,
50 mg seems to suit me better.
If you try it you could just start with a low dose and see if it helps.

I take T3 on its own, and 50mg 5-HTP every night, and I'm doing well with them. Please be aware that you can't mix anti-depressants of any kind.
Hi-just come across your question re 5HTP.
I tried 5HTP while suffering from depression with severe anxiety for 2 years(2011-2013)I tried 50mgs at night. It made me more anxious.I tried it on 2 occasions for a few weeks just to make sure I wasn't imagining it.
I believe I was experiencing severe adrenal fatigue.
I started to get much better after 2 weeks on SAMe(200mcgs on waking)I started taking SAMe in March 2013 & stopped taking SAMe in March this year.
I am now on T3 only after trying T4/T3 combo.
My anxiety levels began to drop after starting SAMe & continue to improve without T4.
