Hypothyroid and sea moss.

Hello Good People. I was wondering has anyone taken sea moss with no adverse effect. I haven't post in awhile, but still trying to get optimal. I am taking 175 mcg of Synthroid and main symptom is fatigue and digestive issue. I had to have emergency hernia surgery and have been having side effects from that. Would love to hear if anyone who is hypothyroid has taken sea moss with positive effect. It does have iodine in it.

This post has lots of useful info about iodine:

Personally, I avoid excess iodine with an under active thyroid.

So we can offer better advice, do share your most recent thyroid blood tests with us, plus key vitamins- ferritin, folate, B12 and vit D. Also include ranges, as these can vary between laboratories.

Re gut issues, have you trialled a gluten free diet? Many members (myself included) find this helpful.

Why do you want to take it? What do you think it will do for you?

Have you had full thyroid testing recently. It could be that you are a poor converter and that's why you still have symptoms on 175 mcg levo, due to the low FT3 - it's low FT3 that causes hypo symptoms. And sea moss won't do anything to help that.
