T3 result advice

I’m asking this for a friend who just got her blood results. Her TSH was below 2 and T4 was high in range which I know is good. I don’t know much about T3 her result for T3 was 4.10 and range is 3.10 to 6.80 so can someone tell me if this is good. She is on levothyroxine only.

She isn't converting very well, has she also been tested for folate, B12, Vit D and ferritin as these need to be optimal for good conversion.

It could be that her fT4 is a little too high which can also effect conversion... how is she feeling?

hi thanks for getting back so quickly. Her B12 and folate were low in the range, don’t think they done ferritin. She doesn’t feel great, tired and pain etc but has some other health issues so it’s often difficult to know which is causing what. I think her T4 was 19 and the top of the range is 21. I will tell her to work on the b12 and folate and get them higher see if that helps.

Sorting those out will make quite a difference, most of us rely on a good B complex to maintain good levels... healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Hello Loraine, i have been on levothyroxine only , the amount i was on at first was about 50mg,then it went up to 120mg, and now its gone back to 100mg, you have to have a blood test quite frequentl y when you start on it, to check that your what they call optiamlly medicated, but i havent had a problemb being on just levothyroxine , but then again , were all different, im not a doctor, and the only thing i would say is that some times when they change the brand i have a slight hic cup with it , but usually if you ask for the brand name your body is happier with , they will usually oblige. Im not at all sure about my t3s nd t4s, but thats a question for your doctor, . I know im not overy hepful, but i would say , watch they dont switch the brand too often . ALL THE BEST- Astro x
