Erfa thyroid blood results confusion

Hi I've been on erfa for a few years now. I am on 3.5 grains. My bloods show up as being under replaced high TSH but when I try to increase my dose I get all the symptoms of being hyperthyroid. Can anyone help me to understand what's going on please? I'm considering switching to a combo of levo and erfa in case I'm T3 sensitive is this a good idea?

Hello BooBoo :

There is nothing on your Profile page - if with Hashimoto's some people can't tolerate NDT as introducing thyroid gland, though it be from a pig, upsets their immune system further ?

Can you please share with forum members these blood test results and others you may have so we can try and see what is going on .

Did you start off on T4 - and had a conversion issue ?

can you add actual test results

was test done early morning

Day before did you split NDT with last 1/3rd daily dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

What vitamin supplements are you taking

What are vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin results

Is your hypothyroidism autoimmune

If your TSH is high on 3.5 grains of Erfa, that’s quite odd. We would expect to see a suppressed TSH with that amount of T3 in your daily thyroid hormone replacement dosage. I’m not surprised that raising your dosage makes things worse—3.5 grains is already quite a hefty dose for most people.

As others have said, please share some blood test results and we’ll see if we can help you figure it out. :)
