Can anyone help please?

On armour 11/2 grains, split dose. Diagnosed Hashimotos. These are recent bloods. Things have improved but I still feel odd. My main issues are I just can’t be bothered with things. I used to be a doer and now have zero motivation or interest in anything. I’m deffo menopausal as I had a full well woman medicheck done but all the results are too much to post. Is it menopause or is my thyroid still an issue. My thyroid levels have improved but not sure what’s optimal.

Thanks,

TSH: 0.016 mU/l (Range 0.27 - 4.3) -6.30%

FT4: 6 pmol/l (Range 3.1 - 6.8) 78.38%

FT3: 17.3 pmol/l (Range 12 - 22) 53.00%

I think you've got the FT3 and FT4 results the wrong way round. :)

It could still be your thyroid. Your FT3 could be a bit higher and your FT4 could be a lot higher. But the only way to tell is to try increasing your dose and see if it helps.

Are your nutrients all optimal?

Thanks. I did. They’re ok, vit d could be higher but I’m worried about over supplementing. I supplement on and off with vit b12 and folate but again worried about overdoing it. GP said folate was above range so I stopped taking it daily. Had a scare with vit b complex as taking one innegus b daily seemed to exacerbate rib/liver pain. I’m not interested in food at the moment though, not interested in anything really.

Your results look good, although you have mixed up the ranges on the FT4 and FT3 results 🤭. Sometimes, depression, anxiety and or stress can lead to lack of motivation. Have you considered taking HRT. Or are you taking HRT?

Yes, they’ve improved significantly. I was on HRT but stopped in Dec as I was wired then had a bleed. It wasn’t suiting me at all then but now I’m wondering if this is needed back into the mix now my thyroid’s improved. The lack of motivation/flatness is awful. I’m just not interested in anything. It’s just like I can’t be bothered so it’s not definitely anti depressants I need it’s like I need the opposite.

Well loss of interest/ motivation, feeling flat can be a sign of depression. Maybe another type of HRT might be worth a try, there are loads to choose from.

Hello Fizzwhizz :

Were you on Levothyroxine before switching to NDT how do these results compare to your bench mark readings of T3 and T4 when on T4 monotherapy.

We also need a strong core strength of vitamins and minerals - please share your readings / ranges for ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D as these need to be maintained at optimal levels which we can advise you on.

Some people with Hashimoto's find introducing natural thyroid hormone replacement increases their Immune system response and feel better taking synthetic treatment options - just a thought ?
