Hashimotos flare-up and hay fever

Dear All. I have been experiencing thyroid symptoms such as unexplained weight gain during the last couple of weeks. I have suffered from hay fever since childhood and this year has been the worst for several years. I'm wondering if there's possibility a link ie my over sensitive immune system attacking my thyroid? Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this?

Can you share your most recent thyroid test results with us; it could be that you need an adjustment. Also worth checking key thyroid vitamins (folate, ferritin, B12 and vit D).

Hi Buddy. Thank you. I had Medichecks blood tests about 6 weeks ago and everything was fine. Mind you it was only my thyroid levels I was testing. Think I need to get full blood tests again as it's been a while since I've done that. I am gluten free, take vit d , vit K2 and magnesium. Things were going well until the pollen count went up but maybe that's coincidence.

Many of my family members are suffering with bad hay fever (and don’t have thyroid issues); so I feel for you. Conversely, my hayfever symtoms have lessened (unsure if this is linked to optimal thyroid medication/ HRT?)

Glad to hear you're hay fever symptoms have lessened. I can't help thinking there's maybe a link since it's all to do with the immune system and wonder if any research has been done on this.

hi Liz i live in Florida snd have hay debt allergies to grass trees 🌴 and pollen its tough for me

Don’t know any correlation between thyroid and hay fever

I do think for me since my thyroid tests are in the normal range bits stress causing my fatigue insomnia etc

Sorry you suffer with hay fy too because it’s yucky
