I was watching a video on YouTube about hashimoto's flare ups and that Doctor was saying Hashimoto's fluctuates from hypo to hyper like a roller-coaster.
Does it? I never get anything but hypo symptoms.

People experience different symptoms Obsidian. With hypothyroidism some members report more ‘hyper like’ symptoms. I’m one of these people… during flares I experience weight loss, tremor, palpitations etc. I also have TED, which is more commonly (although not exclusively) linked to hyperthyroidism/ Graves.
I found this post by humanbean fascinating
Pre diagnosis 30 years ago
I also never had any obvious hyper phase, though did inexplicably loose weight 6 months before rapidly gaining weight…and then getting diagnosed with Hashimoto’s …..so I guess that was my only “hyper” phase ….but never felt unwell at that stage
I also have TED …..I think it’s just not often diagnosed as such with Hashimoto’s patients
I definitely had the ups and downs with Hashimotos. I would feel great, lots of energy, no brainfog, go get a job and nine months later I was exhausted, achey, couldn't think staight, quit my job. This cycle went on for all of my adult life. Now at 77 and over 30 years into treatment things have finally settled down, ostensibly because my thyroid is basically dead at this point and I get a stable amount of hormone from my pills.
Did you find that working made your symptoms worse ?
i am 62 and still trying to get my thyroid meds stable and have been for years. How the heck you manage that with Hashi's?
