Hashimoto's; so much to learn!

Hi there! I found out i have Hashimoto's 15 years ago after half a lifetime of misdiagnosed health issues. Still learning! Dr finally acknowledged i was hypo and prescribed Eutroxsig after i trialled Thyrogold (end of 2017) so i'm still adjusting.

Interested to know if others here are using enzymes to heal gut issues. Recently read about DPP 1V and while i already take probiotics and digestive enzymes, i'm not familiar with that one.

Many thanks!

Hi

I haven't heard of that but do take digestive enzymes and Pure Encapsulations Betaine with Pepsin which has helped me loads. Look at Izabella Wentz article about enzymes, that has lots of info on it 🙂 x

Hi abigailfrances, the betaine HCL etc was recommended by my integrative GP but causing heartburn (i take it after meals as suggested).

I saw Izabella's info about Wobenzyme (?spelling) and see that it targets muscle aches, but i'm more interested in healing the gut and DPP 4 apparently targets that. Just wondering if anyone's tried that particular protease and whether it helped, as well as any side effects.

Thanks for replying.☺

I found that taking betaine HCL before meals helped me. As time went on, and in order to know if I still needed it, I started to take it after a meal and slowly but surely reduced the dosage as I could feel a little acid starting and eventually even one tablet was giving

me acid so I stopped. Happy to say I still don’t need to take it . I didn’t take wobenzym as it’s very expensive. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say the brands I used but you can pm me if you like. Hope this helps.

How much were you taking after meals? And were these meals with protein? I started with one and had no symptoms and upped it until I experienced burning from it and then lowered it down one to my right dose :)

I havent tried Wobenzym but I am going to buy some in the future, i think there are two types, one for muscles and the other to modulate the immune system :)

Apologies if I have took this post in a different direction to what you wanted, and hope someones knows about DDP 4 :) x

Thanks abigailfrances...i trialled LDN and my immune system flattened and i was sooo sick so not interested in immune modulators. But yes, was just about to post "no more about betaine hcl please." My GP advised not to take it.
