Possible Overmedication Woes

I switched to T4/T3 combo in December, I'm self sourcing Tiromel. I was at that point taking 200mcg of Levo, felt okish but felt T3 could be higher it was 5.2 on a range of 3.1-6.8. This was a private test in October. I didnt want to add more Levo so following advice decoded to try some T3.

Added 6.25mcg of T3, dropped Levo to 150mcg and did 2 weeks, after that added another 6.25mcg in a split dose and basically continued. A blood test in February saw my T3 at 6 and I felt well. I planned to stay on this dose.

In the last few weeks I've felt off, very fatigued, shortness of breath, fast pulse, palpitations. I've had to put my gym membership on hold as I wanted to concentrate on my health and frankly I was really struggling to exercise. At first it was blamed on asthma but I have no wheezing, cough or tightness in my chest.

Had a phone call with GP last week who was concerned enough to make a f2f appointment. I saw him on Friday and he heard a heart murmur and has referred me to cardiology. However I have read thyrotoxicosis can cause temporary heart murmurs. I have known leaky valves due to having EDS so I think he's just being cautious.

I haven't had any thyroid meds since Sunday, just in case of over medication and I have felt better. The racing heartbeat, palpitations have calmed down and my breathing is better.

Going forward I'd like to go back on my T3/ T4 combo but am wondering if I need to drop dose and if so which one and by how much.

sounds exactly where I am on my symptoms and I now wish I had left off my T4 completely for a few days as you seem to have done and the symptoms eased. Been on 125mc gLevo . Results back on Thursday so on friday I only took 25mcg then Saturday I didn't take any and then sunday I took 25mcg again and felt a little bit better so Monday I started back on 100 and also this morning and my symptoms have heightened again. Seems that even at a lower dose initially, I am still topping up my high T4 levels by maybe going on 100 too soon. I really don't know how to handle this myself tbh. Whatever I do I seem to mess things up for myself
