I read the questions/answers with interest, but not being a numpty I want to know what is happening to my body there is talk of t3:t4 etc, what do they all mean? Can anybody advise me in sentences that explain it plainly or is there a recommended book that details what is happening and why. I realise it is not a clear cut condition. Thanks.

This is something I find tricky too. Even though I work as a health professional I always struggled with anatomy and biology, and the endocrine system is very complex! I attended a free online webinar with Inna Topilar (via Facebook, she does these quite frequently), who also has a podcast. It put things in a simpler more understandable way.. the best book I have found is Slow Butterfly by Amy Gajjar.
