Firstly thank you for all the help I’ve received already with my numerous questions. My question today is how do I fully understand the percentage through range? I have posted my results before and I’ve been told my t3 is low and I’m a poor converter.
As an example my most recent results are:-
TSH 0.35 to 5 (0.08)
Free T4 15-24 (16.6)
Free T3 3.9-6.8 (4.4)
my previous results were:
TSH 0.35 to 5 (0.06)
Free T4 15-24 (18.1)
Free T3 3.9-6.8 (4.0)
I’m still on 100levo but added 5mcg lio. How do I know if this is making a difference from the results above? It was suggested I raised the Lio to 10.
What levels should I be aiming for?
I hope this makes sense!
Tks

We use percentages for several reasons, not least because it's easier to use for comparison with just one number rather than three (result + range).
You can easily see that your FT used to be 34.44% and is now 17.78% - it's gone down by 16.66 - which is normal when taking T3. So, yes, you were/are a poor converter and needed T3.
Your FT3, on the other hand, has gone up from 3.45% to 17.24% - an increase of 13.79. So, yes, the lio is making a huge difference.
That said, it's not enough. Hypos very often need their FT3 up around 70% through the range - or even higher - much higher than someone with no thyroid problems (euthyroid). So, yes, you need to increase your lio by 5 mcg and see what that does for you.
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
Yes I followed all your instructions😁Test was done early. I can’t split my 5mcg lio so I had it 10hrs before testing. I did have my VIT panel done, which I think is on my last post. I just wanted to know if the lio addition was reflected in my t3 / t4 results. It’s hard to understand it all and know that what you’re doing is working. My doctor and endo aren’t any help so I’m going solo.
Thanks so much for the advice. I will discuss this with my doctor and see if I can persuade her to do the Levo first and see the effects before I have to pay more for Lio.
