What were the ranges for T4?If like most Doctors it's unlikely they tested T3.Have you ever had T3 tested? I see from a previous post about a year ago you were on 175mcg daily of Levo but you still had symptoms of being undermedicated? Could be you don't convert very well.I myself had a similar problem, I was as high as 150 levo daily, my T4 was right at top of range but T3 wouldn't budge so I have added a little lio which has made massive difference.Have you thought about taking private finger prick test for T4, T3 and TSH?

Results are impossible to interpret without ranges

You are legally entitled to printed copies of your blood test results and ranges.

The best way to get access to current and historic blood test results is to register for online access to your medical record and blood test results

UK GP practices are supposed to offer everyone online access for blood test results. Ring and ask if this is available and apply to do so if possible, if it is you may need "enhanced access" to see blood results.

In reality some GP surgeries still do not have blood test results online yet

Alternatively ring receptionist and request printed copies of results. Allow couple of days and then go and pick up.

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested

Also both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once to see if your hypothyroidism is autoimmune

Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum

I just asked over the phone I thought that’s all you needed there was no ft3 result and everything else was fine except for my chlosterel which was 6.1 x

High cholesterol suggests low Ft3

So either inadequate dose levothyroxine or poor conversion

What were vitamin levels

What vitamin supplements are you taking

We need good vitamin levels for good conversion of Ft4 (levothyroxine) to Ft3 (active hormone )

Low Ft3 tends to result in low vitamin levels because of lower stomach acid

I didn’t ask for them they just said all my vitamins and iron were fine I’m sick of feeling like I can’t be bothered to do anything and my feet and hands are like blocks of ice I have to wait for the 15th now for the doctor to discuss them with me , would you stay on the 200 mg till doctor rings or should I increase it myself it’s another 2 weeks yet

You need to see the results BEFORE GP appointment

was test early morning, before 9am, only water to drink between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Which brand levothyroxine

Get printed copies or get online access next week

Come back with new post once you have them

You need TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested (most likely have to test privately)

Plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 results

And thyroid antibodies tested at least once

B12 and folate extremely low

Iron low

No ferritin or vitamin D results ….

Presumably/hopefully you have been taking daily B12 and a separate vitamin B complex

I took all the vitamin b complex I finished them about a month ago I just take the vitamin b12 now they said my iron levels were fine , should I be restarting the b complex , I actually don’t know what’s going on with me I’ve had a stabbing pain down my groin for 2 weeks and now I’ve all pain in my back send help 😂 x

Strongly recommend you get FULL Thyroid and vitamin testing done yourself

How much levothyroxine are you taking

Which brand

Do u always get same brand at each prescription

Just testing TSH is completely inadequate

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested

Also both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once to see if your hypothyroidism is autoimmune

Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Random aches and pains, for me, arise when undermedicated

It’s awful isn’t it never knew how many symptoms it actually causes x

"Fine" is what they say when they cannot be bothered to look at the results properly. Usually if the results are anywhere in the range, even if by just one point. The labs "flag" any results - here by putting a small ! by the result - easily missed by all the staff.

Get print out, bung the results on here and we will help further. Do this before seeing the GP again so you can question the results and ask informed questions. Good luck.
