So I've recently been put up on t4 ( from 75mcg) to 100mcg. My doctor has stated I reduce my t3 however I feel like t3 makes me feel normal whereas t4 doesn't make me feel any better
My last bloods on 75mcg t4 and 25 mcg t3 were
Tsh 0.01 (0.3-4.8)
T4- 11 (9-19)
T3- 4.8 (3.8-6.8)
I am now on 100 mcg and 25mcg (I have not dropped t3 as I feel horrendous without it)
Bloods show
Tsh same
T4 13
T3 4.5
Can anyone help me. I have swollen legs everyday and high water retention. I feel like utter shit.
I didn't know if reverse t3 could be the culprit? I've never had it tested.
All my iron,folate,b12 and vit d are optimal now as I've worked on these and take supplements for them.
B12 is high now.
Iron is over 65
B12 is 900
Folate is 10.5

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test
Is this how you do your tests?
Which brand of levothyroxine and is it always same brand
