I have undiagnosed Crohns/IBD and continuous flares. I had surgery in 2011 resection of 20cm colon. What treatments are effective?

Crohns/IBD
I think you may have posted this in the wrong forum
Are you gluten free ? Low VitD is often implicated with Crohns - how are your levels ? Also what are the kevels of B12 - Folate - Ferritin ?
After Gut TB surgery 50 years ago I later had more surgeries revealing Crohns.
If your Ileum was involved then your B12 needs checking.
ESSENTIAL on Levo to regularly retest vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin
When were these last tested
Exactly what vitamin supplements are you taking
Is your hypothyroidism autoimmune
Are you on gluten free/dairy free diet
I have Chron's and initially had a drug called Pentasa which didn't suit me at all, so it was stopped. I then had Budesonide following a bad flare which really helped...a steroid...but stopped this after six months because of the risk to my bones because of osteoporosis. A three months, tapering, course should help. Each dose was equivalent to 39mg of Prenisolone. I take Methotrexate for both Chron's and Rheumatoid Arthritis. The Methotrexate, also known as Nordimet, is an efficient treatment for Chron's and is taken once a week as a 'pen' injection. One of my biggest problems has been reactions to foods including Gluten and all Dairy. I have a very limited diet now, but I ensure that it is healthy. Good luck, it isn't easy to get it under control. You might find out more info on the Coeliac site...they cover Chron's too.
