An update from my last posts.I went to see my gp yesterday waited 2 weeks for a face to face appointment , I asked about HRT and was told at my age there would be to many risks and it would have any benifits to my health, also as I had to go to A&E on Monday funny turn at 4 am, gp said go to A&E, suspected minor stroke, waiting futher tests, CT scan showed no indication of mini stroke.

I asked why T3 and T4 were not tested on last blood test I was told its up to the laboratory that does the testing, it seems that theres a new procedure and if you are already on thyroid medication even if a doctor requests T3 and T4 the laboratory dosn't have to do them, I find this very strange.

Gp advise ring Cruse, (there answer phone says ring back mid April ) and ring Healthy Minds and have a prescription for setralin ( which I believe is some kind of antidepressants)

I am now down to 100mg of levo as my gp says they won't prescribe levo if I'm changing the dose myself.

I will have to see how this goes and have a private blood test in April.

Feeling unwell, tired, low mood, and like I'm going round in circles.

Sorry you weren’t listened too and your legitimate issues ignored

You’re correct …….it’s bonkers

Which brand is your 100mcg levothyroxine

Do you always get same brand

Levothyroxine is an extremely fussy hormone and should always be taken on an empty stomach and then nothing apart from water for at least an hour after

Many people take Levothyroxine soon after waking, but it may be more convenient and perhaps more effective taken at bedtime

No other medication or supplements at same as Levothyroxine, leave at least 2 hour gap.

Some like iron, calcium, magnesium, HRT, omeprazole or vitamin D should be four hours away

(Time gap doesn't apply to Vitamin D mouth spray)

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
