Has anyone used the testing company called gettested?

There is no information on their website saying where they are based and there is no address, and I always find this secrecy on any website that wants to sell me things to be suspicious.

I looked for them on the Companies House website and found this entry :

find-and-update.company-inf...

It might be the wrong company, because their business is described as "62012 - Business and domestic software development ", and on the Filing History it twice references "Accounts for a dormant company".

But there is only one officer (is that the right word?) listed for the company - a director - and he seems to have had an active career with multiple dissolved companies.

The other worry I have is that several of the prices for their tests use a comma where in the UK we would use a decimal point, for example, two of the tests I was interested in :

gettested.co.uk/product/min...

gettested.co.uk/product/nut...

So if I were to buy a test from them would my samples be getting sent to continental Europe or would the testing be done in the UK? Given that delays in receiving samples could alter the results I would prefer testing to be done in the UK.

Oh, and another thing - the reviews look fake - reviews are rarely that long and often have spelling errors or grammatical errors. The reviews look just too good.

hi Humanbean

Yes, I’ve used them before for a cortisol test. It is a bit odd because even the website seems a bit hidden! I’m not sure where they are based but I had no issues with them. The report that came back was quite comprehensive and I don’t remember it taking too long to come back. I haven’t used them since because I prefer the format that Thriva reports come back in but that’s the only reason.

Hope that helps!

I thought I saw someone here who had used them but wouldn't be able to say who due to terrible memory.

Their tests are pretty expensive. Could just be a middle man?

I haven’t used them but I know you can buy a company off the shelf that’s already set up which may have an entirely different nature of business. A decent accountant would usually change the company’s trading description fairly soon after purchase I’d imagine.

Following my dodgy test results, which you kindly pointed out were far too coincidental to be correct, I personally wouldn’t go with anyone suspect just to save a few quid.

They don't seem to be any cheaper than an already tried and trusted company.
