Sense of smell affected?

Just wondering if my fluctuating sense of taste and smell is related to untreated hypothyroidism. I'm bumping along the very bottom of the T4 range on every blood test and have had an abnormal thyroid ultrasound scan.

I can go weeks and months with a very poor sense of smell (and taste). On occasions it has disappeared completely but thankfully returned but never as good as before.

Has anyone else had this?

Can you add actual results and ranges

You need FULL thyroid testing including both thyroid antibodies and all four vitamins

Low B12 frequently results in tinnitus

Taste and smell can very definitely be affected by thyroid hormone levels, as can other senses like touch. I found I was unable to tolerate certain tastes and odours that I had once found acceptible, until thyroid hormone levels were restored to reasonable levels.
