Hi, just received my latest results as shown

Serum TSH - 0.11 Normal range 0.35-4.94

Free T4 - 15.5 Normal range 9.0-19.1

Free T3 - 4.3 Normal range 2.4-6.0

I’m taking 100mg daily and feeling much better on this dosage, however my Dr wants to speak to me regarding low TSH result.

Any advise please before I speak to him,

Many thanks

Gia

You'll have to explain to your GP that though your TSH is low your frees (actual thyroid hormone levels) are well within range and you are feeling better on this dose than before.... you could say that you have discussed this with Thyroid UK who have confirmed that this is common and that free levels are FAR more important than TSH and dosing until symptoms are resolved is necessary.... 🤗

If they ask you to reduce then just say 'NO' you have every right to refuse and they can't make you reduce unless you agree

was test early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

How long have you been on 100mcg

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin at least annually

What vitamin supplements are you taking

FT4: 17.5 pmol/l (Range 9 - 19)

Ft4 is 85.00% through range

But

FT3: 4.3 pmol/l (Range 2.4 - 6)

Ft3 only 52.78% through range

Shows poor conversion

First step…..get all four vitamins tested and optimal

Test was taken at 8:45 am, previous dose of Levo was taken 24 hours before. Only drank water before test. Been on 100 mcg since Oct 2023. On the same brand of Levothyroxine. I did stop taking vitamin B12, vitamin B complex, Biotin and vitamin d 10 days before test. I resumed taking again after blood test.

Previous post showed very low B12 and folate

You need to retest

Also have you ever had BOTH TPO and TG antibodies tested

If not get tested via Medichecks or BH

Exactly what vitamin supplements are you taking

Stop any supplements containing biotin 5-7 days before test
