Hi everyone I hope you’re all keeping well. Please could someone advise on the brands of T3.
I was prescribed privately T3 in October & what an amazing difference it has made to my health. I was on Sigma Pharma 5mcg x 3 per day for two mths at a cost of £125 per mth. I then went on to Thybon Henning 20mcg (so much cheaper) & split the tablets so still on same dose. After 6 weeks my sleeping isn’t good, my depression is coming back & teeth grinding has started again. I feel as if I need more of this brand to keep me feeling well. Is there room to increase. Has anyone else had these issues when changing over. My results from earlier this month:
T4. 16.4 12-22 pmol/L
T3 5.8 3.1-6.8 pmol/L
TSH 0.008 0.270-4.2
Many thanks

I can't advise between them but can tell you of all UK possibilities - and many others.
helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.
This link takes you to a page which has direct links to the documents from Dropbox and QR codes to make it easy to access from phones.
The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrix for tablets, oral solutions and liothyronine available in the UK.
Ideally you should retest 6-8 weeks after any dose change
When did you last test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
On T3 - day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day with last dose 8-12 hours before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing
Sounds like Thybon Henning ( which I take) is much more potent than your previous brand. You sound over medicated from your symptoms. Have you tried reducing the Thybon to 5mcg twice a day 8hrs apart. 7am and 3pm maybe? Try reducing and see how you feel after about 3 days or so.
Hi. I’ve been under medicated & thyroid Doc trying to get good levels with both levo & T3. I was on sigmapharm to begin with & was working very well for me. I just could not pay that amount every month so changed to Thybon Henning & split the tabs. Been doing so for 6-7 wks. Some of my symptoms have returned ie-teeth grinding, a little depression & not sleeping. I began sleeping well once on sigmapharm. Doc said to go back on sigma but the £ are ridiculous . Thank you for listening
