Just wonder if I am on a correct dose of Thyroxine as I am taking 100mcg thyroxine tablet and 10mg of T3 each morning. But my recent blood result show T4 is 15.3 pmol/L and TSH LEVEL IS 0.22 mu/L. My GP said the level are high and should reduce the dose to 75mcg of thyroxine.
I am not sure.
Appreciate any suggestions,

When I had my recent blood test I was FT4 16.2 this was flagged as abnormal as was my tsh 0.01. Tsh has been this for several years but my FT4 was up 2 from last years test
They have slowly been reducing the top limit for FT4, it used to be 22 it is now down to 16.
I was worried that my doctor was going to reduce my medication. She said it was slightly high but as long as I feel okay on my current dose of 125mcg, to have another test in 6 months and see where it is then...........phew!
I did tell her this is the best I have felt in years.
Never change dose based just on TSH, especially when taking T3 too
Obviously you need TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested together
Extremely common when on levothyroxine plus T3, when adequately treated to have very low or suppressed TSH
Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto’s
When were vitamin levels last tested
Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested
Also both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once
Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum
What vitamin supplements are you taking
About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease, usually diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies
Autoimmune thyroid disease with goitre is Hashimoto’s
Autoimmune thyroid disease without goitre is Ord’s thyroiditis.
Both are autoimmune and generally called Hashimoto’s.
Low vitamin levels are extremely common when hypothyroid, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease
20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis
In U.K. medics hardly ever refer to autoimmune thyroid disease as Hashimoto’s (or Ord’s thyroiditis)
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
On T3 - day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day with last dose 8-12 hours before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing
If you feel good on this dose refuse to reduce as you will have a real battle to get it increased... never agree to a reduction thinking they know what is best for you.
Your fT4 is relatively low in range 33% based on 12-22 range, your TSH is lowered by taking T3, have you got a fT3 result?
