Thyroxine dose adjusment

I am taking 136mcg thyroxine daily.In a week 5 days 3 tab and sat ,sun 2 tab of 50mcg thyroxine daily.I want to increase my thyroxine dose 141mcg daily .How can I adjust the dose?

Honestly - and I'm really not meaning any disrespect, promise - but I cannot see the point of changing your dose by a mere 5mcg a day. That's really not going to make any difference. I think I'd just go up to a 150mcg a day and see how that worked out.

I rather agree. If naveed123 wishes to get close to 141, then simply add 25mcg on both of the days on which two tablets are currently taken - that will give 142.86 (albeit that is rather more accurate than the tablets themselves will be ). If only 50mcg tablets are available, split one.

Lilymay, Naveed's TSH became suppressed on 147mcg but s/he's experiencing hypo symptoms and weight gain on 135mcg so I suggested 141mcg might be a middle way.

Ah right, thanks. But I didn't read it that way. I thought Naveed's TSH only went down to 0.77 (so not really suppressed??) but the doctor raised the Levo dose and up went Naveed's BP and weight (unsurprisingly). I think the doctor probably should have left the dose alone!

You're probably right but Naveed also mentioned TSH 0.5 affected bp so some fine tuning might help. I hope so, anyway.

If you take 3 x 50mcg daily x 6 days and 100mcg on the 7th day you will be taking the equivalent of 142.8mcg daily.
