It would be helpful if this post was pinned.
Thank you so much Wonderful Dame 👍😎❤️💛💚 This is a treasure! Best to you and to diogenes [alas passed], plus all who contribute to our wellbeing. xox
Thankyou it made interesting reading.I never realised who diogenes really was till recently. He will be greatly missed on this forum.
Thankyou for sharing the hugely helpful legacy of Diogenes.
There's also a list of papers on the Thyroid UK website. It's somewhat hidden away unfortunately.

Don’t want this to be taken the wrong way but do we think the long awaited book will still happen? It would be a great legacy, I think all that can should buy a copy and throw it on their endos desk. Just to show that there are people out there that do understand how this stuff works and it ain’t a one test wonder.
I didn’t realise that Dr Midgley was actually Diogenes!!!!
Dr midgley was the person who invented the tsh test wasn’t he?
He also stated that TSH was irrelevant once on thyroid hormones.
lynnwin . This is the person I wrote to you about the other week
I think he invented an FT4 and an FT3 test - NOT TSH.
Ah, I thought he came up with all of them and pointed out the short comings of TSH only
This thread is relevant:
TSH Test creator (Robert D. Utiger, MD) says body temperature is better!
do you have a link to where he says TSH is irrelevant once on thyroid medication
Not exactly, but this....

There is a triple failure that has led to a diagnostic hiatus that urgently needs correcting. The paradigm of the TSH-FT4 relationship is wrong, especially in treatment. The whole conceptual thinking behind diagnosis thyroidology and the importance of personal diagnosis based on the patient rather than whether the numbers fall in or out of the normal range is fatally flawed. For the moment mechanical thinking has traduced medical diagnosis.
Absolutely! Totally!! Got it in one!!!
Hi Dippy,I'm after lovely Diogenes post where he talked about the info that the manufacturers of Armour Thyroid in their own literature talked about the much slower rise and fall of tlit liothyronine content. I can't find it. Sorry to ask again....
