Goitre and Spinal Surgery

Hi. I am awaiting Cervical Spinal Surgery but also have a multinodular enlarged goitre. The spinals team says the goitre needs to come out first before they can get to the discs in my neck. It’s all a waiting game at the minute.

I have a very high anaesthesia risk too. Intubation is difficult for various reasons and the goitre is making things more difficult. I will need an ITU bed following surgery.

I was hoping they could do both procedures at the same time, but apparently not.

Has anyone else had similar problems?
