hi everyone,

I had my parathyroid checked not long ago due to high calcium levels and hypo symptoms even when levels are near optimal. My worse symptoms are fatigue, muscle weakness and severe aching all over, heart problems (palps).

Have attached bloods.

seems a bit low to me but in range on parathyroid?

What vitamin supplements are you taking

What was most recent vitamin D result

Taking vitamin D naturally increases calcium levels

Assuming you take vitamin D, do you take vitamin k2 mk7 as well

What’s your iron and ferritin levels like now

TSH 0.01 (0.3 - 5), FT3 6.6 (3.86- 6.0)

I suggest your symptoms are likely to be due to overmedication of thyroid hormones.

In your last post you wrote 'currently on 75mcg tirsont 3 days a week and 100mcg tiro 4 days a week plus 1 1/4 grains armour'

What are your currently taking?

Sorry for the awfully late reply I have only just seen your message. I dropped down to 1 1/2 grains of armour and 100mcg of tiro 3 times a week (instead of 4) and 75mcg for the other 4 days.

The past 6 months my fatigue and muscle weakness/ aches are the worst they have ever been. I am house bound and in a wheelchair when I do go out. Have tried to do a small bit of walking each week but the fatigue is so awful after. I have been dignosed with ME, PoTs, orthostatic hypertension. But I still swear this fatigue and muscle problems are my thyroid

Ajva 'But I still swear this fatigue and muscle problems are my thyroid'

I totally agree. The thyroid blood test numbers that you've posted here strongly suggest that you are taking far too much thyroid hormone. This can give the symptoms you describe.

The over range FT3 result points to the possibility that you really do not need the T3 that the 1.5 grains of Armour is providing.

The confusing thing is my last few results before I upped meds my t4 is bottom of the range. I only had one increase and only added one more 25mcg weekly and all of a sudden I am top of the range. I think my only option is to decrease and see where I am at after that.

NDT is notorious for keeping FT4 low. I'm not qualified to advise you but... in your situation, I would try reducing or even stopping the Armour for a few days to see what effect that has. Whomever is monitoring and prescribing your thyroid medication obviously doesn't really know what they are doing, so you need to take things into your own hands.

I self medicate by sourcing the meds myself from a prescribed. I do not do well at all on t4 only or cutting out NDT I tried this for a year last year and honestly felt like I was going to die my body felt as if it was shutting down.

I can only imagine my RT3 is going really high where I keep adding in the t4 only. As I had RT3 tested when I was on t4 only and t4 with added synthetic t3 as well and it kept going really over range. Then when back on armour it came down again.

Feel like it is becoming quite tricky

Also here is my results back in July whilst one 1 grain armour and 75mcg of tiro. I had the same symptoms but levels were much lower.

I would still suggest that those levels are higher than your body needs. TSH is still well below range, FT3 almost at the top of range. With thyroid hormones, it's all about getting the right balance of T4 and T3 for you as an individual.

This is true. I have another blood test in a few weeks. Think I will get that out the way then start decreasing slowly to see if it improves. I felt better when I was only on 1 grain armour and 50mcg of added t4.
