Hi, I have been experiencing a metal taste from time to time, is this anything to do with thyroid issues?

Metal taste

Hello, I imagine you’ve ruled out that it could be reflux ?
No, never thought to, as I havnt had reflux symptoms for quite a while
Might be silent reflux, which is more or less symptom free

I’ve definitely had this. For me, it is worse when thyroid medication &/or B12/folate are not optimal. Also, if I am feeling very anxious, the metal taste can return.
I sometimes get a salty taste in my mouth, but never metallic.
Metallic taste is often associated with anxiety or depression.
Edit
Metallic taste is associated with several medications including antidepressants

Sounds very possible. Thanks 🌸
I think, only think, the metallic taste can be associated with low iron or some vitamin or mineral deficiency.

I noticed a weird taste and googled it and apparently it was caused by pine nuts, we’d been making homemade pesto 🤦🏽♀️ hope it’s not too awful and goes away soon 🌱
