There are rather a lot of possible causes for a metallic taste in the mouth and nausea. Could you be pregnant?

I googled "Why can I taste metal". There were lots of other links available apart from the two above.

Pregnant? I had a strong taste of metal with my 3rd and 4th. If not pregnant then hormone related?

I have only recently lost that metallic taste (also thought I could smell petrol?) - I have been going through menopause (I’m 52) and I had both sensations for about 2 years. I’m sure it’s hormone related.

Hope you feel better soon x

I had that for a time. I think it was temporary increase in blood pressure and you can sometimes taste the blood via your lips

Although I didn’t feel nauseous, I’ve definitely had the metallic taste nd have posted on this subject before.

For me it gets worse if I’m under medicated or anxious and is better when both thyroid & vitamin levels (esp B complex) are optimal & I’m not stressed.

Grey Goose suggested to me that

the metallic taste could be gums or tongue bleeding very slightly- not enough to see but enough to taste it. My dentist confirmed this might be happening with me -some of us are sensitive to taste of blood!

I've been on it for the same time and have been having digestive problems. I did a WebMD search and it appears to be one of the side effects.

Perhaps you are not on an optimum dose of thyroid hormones as taste and smell disorders are a symptom of hypothyroidism:

metallic poisoning of some sort, the cheap artificial B12 cyanocobalamin will do it or inadvertently ingesting aluminum, its often in food. Some teas can be a problem. Its the cyanid in cyanocobalamin that makes you ill. The cure is a good quality B12 (methylcobalamin) as thats the way the body removes cyanid. Think what you have been eating and drinking lately and google it. Hibiscus tea can if taken in very large amount cause aluminium poisoning

When looking back at your previous posts your FT3 was almost at the bottom of the range.

That’s too low.

I have exactly the same symptoms as you when I am UNDER medicated.

Not what you're looking for?
