B Complex and sleep problems

Stopped taking the Folic acid prescribed and opted for Thorne Basic B Complex. Was taking one a day in water (capsules too big for me). Felt great for a week and then developed a problem with sleep. Not so much insomnia, just difficult to get off to sleep and then having vivid dreams. Is this an effect of having too much B12 or perhaps something in this particular brand ? Never had sleep problems before this.Thank you

Neither Thorne Basic B Complex nor B12 have ever had that effect on me. And I've taken both for a long time.

What time of day are you taking the B complex - morning after breakfast is recommended?

Its possible that methyl B's don't suit you in which case I'd recommend this B complex that contains active vitamins but not methyl.

Religiously, every morning after breakfast. Thanks, those appear to be out of stock at the moment.

Just do a google search for the product. Be careful to get the exact name. It will be available elsewhere.

I have to say I have tried a number of different Complex B vitamins brands. I can t get on with any of them. They either make me jittery and terrible sleep problems or a get the Niacin Flush. Good luck. Maybe it will ease with time.

when I first started on B complex I initially felt a bit wired for about a week but it wore off

If it remains an issue….try just a separate folate and separate B12

Definitely try a different brand. Thorne didn’t suit me at all, I now take Igennus Super B complex.
