Hi, I have written on here before, but have just had my TRab test back after waiting weeks for it, does this confirm I have graves? But also can or have got hashi as well as have antibodies for that too? I’m confused as does this mean I can go either way? I know my levels aren’t very high at the moment so wondering if I’ve caught it in the early stages maybe? Xx
Your Trab results exceeds the limit so is positive & as a marker for Graves - that confirms Graves. Having positive TPO is autoimmune marker and often highest elevations are see with Hashimoto’s but also elevated with Graves.
Your FT4 & FT3 are just over range & this is what doctors need to be looking at to treat. Antibodies fluctuate & do not always correlate to the severity of levels. The TSH is also be unreliable so your doctors should be looking to start you on very low dose carbimazole eg 5mg a day to lower high frees into range.
I’m might be they naturally increase and the dose need to be increased or adjusted according to what FT4 & FT3 are doing.
