Question about using synthroid and ndt

I was on synthroid for about 6 years I am at 100 mg I am having symptoms again. I asked my doctor about ndt and he gave me a prescription. I have lowered my dose of synthroid slowly to 50 mg and plan on adding in the ndt but I don't know what dose to start at. Any ideas from people that have had success with this would be appreciated.

What dose of desiccated thyroid have you been prescribed? And which product?

I suspect you are very significantly under-dosed and probably feeling it.

(Levothyroxine doses would be in micrograms - mcg - not milligrams - mg. Depending on product, the desiccated thyroid will be in milligrams or grains - or both.)

Yes I see that it is 100 mcg. The prescription (which I have not filled yet because I don't know ow what to do) is for 60 mg I think. I did not know you could take both together and was hesitant to go off the synthroid. Then I came across this site and saw that you could. But I am still in the very beginning learning stages of this so I don't want to do anything till I feel comfortable about it.
