Confused with symptoms and results

Hi everyone, it's been a while...

So after returning to the gym earlier in the year and having a bit of normality for a change, I started to feel symptomatic and my blood test in June showed I was starting to go under again.

What i'm confused about is that although I have been upping my Levothyroxine i'm still going in the wrong direction and it doesn't seem to be having much affect on my levels. I could of sworn that some of the symptoms I have been getting lately like excessive sweating (only from my armpits), red eyelids and glassy eyes etc. was due to me now being overmedicated, yet my recent result has shown otherwise.

There's still plenty of room for me to increase my Levothyroxine, I had bumped up to 125mg a day and although there was only 3 weeks between my last increase and my TFT, it shows that nothing has changed even slightly!

I'm unsure of how much more Levothyroxine to now add in. I was on 875mg per week, what should I increase to without going too far the other way now.

I've purposed not touched my T3 amount as I always thought my T4 needed to be higher than what it has been.

Any thoughts would be fantastic!

Hi Thyroidsam, which brand of Levothyroxine are you taking?

I have recently had problems with 100 mcgm Accord T4 leaving my very underdosed at 32% through range, normally 65%+. I sent in a yellow card to MHRA.

I also take 15 mcgm T3 but my results for that were good.

Hey Crimple, I’m on Wockhart Levothyroxine and have been for a long time no changes there.

Three weeks is too soon to do a throid blood test. It take 6-8 weeks to show stable blood levels and even after that things can change.

You have been making very small changes in your dose, so small dose change = small change in results.

Are you sure to take Levo on an empty stomach, 1 hour before food or caffeine containing drinks?

I'd recommend a 12.5mcg Levo dose increase every day, wait a minimum of 6 weeks to retest.

How are your vitamins looking?

What supplements are you taking?

Hey Jaydee1507,

But even after my first increase which would now be 5 weeks ago, my TSH is rising and there’s no real difference in either my T4 or T3 levels.

I take my my meds with water every morning with at least 1hr between food etc.

vitamins are all good. I take b12, folate, vit d spray.

Ferritin is 39 with a minimum range of 30 so potentially my iron is a bit low ( Thriva couldn’t process the rest of the iron elements in my blood sample…).

Are you leaving 24 hours between last levo dose and blood test? Also testing at or just before 9am when TSH is highest?

Are you always getting the same brand of Levo?

Which brand of levo do you get?

Hey Jaydee1507,

Yes I’m a seasoned blood tester 😂, always before 9am and 24hrs between levo and test. Likewise 8-12 hours between evening T3. I’m on Wockhart 25mg levo and have been on the same brand for a long time. I take cytomol t3 which I source for a trusted provider.
