does anyone take oral estradiol in addition to transdermal cream together?

oral estradiol and topical cream
What do you mean by transdermal cream? Are you referring to topical oestrogen for vaginal problems?
I don’t now but I did for a number of years following a total hysterectomy. Absence of ovaries contributed to vaginal atrophy which wasn’t resolved by transdermal or oral Oestrogen.
There is no problem in using both as there is no systemic uptake of topical oestrogen
It’s called biest cream in the states. Apply to arms. What do you mean by systemic uptake?
I mean absorption of oestrogen into the body. I would think that the cream you describe is absorbed systemically and is an alternative method of increasing oestrogen levels.
I wouldn’t think that this cream should be used in addition to oral oestrogen. Your levels could become too high.
Consult your doctor about this
I take Bijuve combined capsule with body identical oestrogen in it and Utrogestan (this is the first combined product to contain actual Utrogestan rather than a progestin). And I use 2 x sprays of transdermal Lenzetto oestrogen spray a day (on my arms). So almost what you are asking. I'm under the Newson Clinic for menopause.
So you use two different forms of estrogen to feel stable
Yes. It works well and is quite common for the menopause specialists to do that.
We have to remember that we all absorb transdermal products differently. I don't absorb them very well, apart for the Lenzetto spray, I absorb that well, but it's low dose so I needed around 4 sprays a day.
We decided to try me on the combination of spray and capsule and it works very well for me. I can't use the oestrogen gel, that hits my system too fast and then wears off fast too. And patches were also being absorbed too quickly for me. The spray is much better in my case but not strong enough hence the combination.
Exactly what happened to me with cream and patch. I just wonder if I will ever get this straight
Does your dr pay attention more to labs or how you feel
Frequent UTIs - never having had them before except once just after I was married 40 years ago, and my GP put me on Vagirux pessaries for atrophic vagina ( nice!). Now swapped to Estriol cream owing to continued irritation. Not much data on use of these in older women but because they are locally administered and not whole system, as with a tablet for eg, they are deemed relatively probably safe, so there’s another hormone replacement I’m ‘taking’, plus levo plus vitamin d! I dunno. 🤷♀️
