levothyroxine makes me feel so tired

hi,

After three months with no meds (just to prove I need them) I’ve now been on 50mcg levo and 10 mcg T3. As I had some 100 mcg levo tablets left my endo said use them up taking every other day. Four weeks in I’m noticing the day I don’t take levo just T3 I feel so much better. The alternate day I take levo and T3 I feel so tired I could sleep all day!

Does this mean that after taking levo for six years and gaining weight the whole time and feeling stressed and tired that I may be one of the people it doesn’t suit and that I need T3 only.

far better to take 50mcg every day

Cut 100mcg in half to taking 50mcg everyday

Essential to test vitamin d, folate, ferritin and B12 especially if recently stopped levothyroxine

Likely low vitamin levels

This question interests me too because I take 55 mcg levo in the morning. I wake up and feel like my heart is slightly racing. I take my medicine and return to bed. Within 15 minutes I feel tired and go into a deep sleep, wake up at 9 - 9:30 or even 10! I am retired now, fortunately. Why am I tired and not wired after taking my levo??

Off subject, but my cat taps my face at 7:30am until I wake up and go to take my medicine. She doesn't come to the kitchen with me and she already has food. She just goes back to sleep. I feel glad to have a medicine reminder!
