I have started adding T3 - small dose 50 mcg a day at 11 am but now my fatigue has gone through the roof - been sleeping all day but can’t shift it
I am also on 125 levo
Is this from the T3 as if so will stop tomorrow - I only started yesterday
I also had a dentist procedure yesterday so is it the T3 or the dentist injection
I am floored - can’t move
Need to sleep all the time !

presumably (hopefully) you meant 5mcg T3
Looking at previous post from 14 days ago
healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
you were on 150mcg levothyroxine for years
Stopped taking it completely (for how long )
Then restarted at 100mcg every day 4 weeks ago
You’re likely under medicated having reduced dose by 50mcg
HOWEVER don’t change dose levothyroxine
Stop T3 and get thyroid levels retested in 2-3 weeks time
That will be 6-8 weeks on 100mcg levothyroxine
Test early morning, only drink water between waking and test …and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 levels too

yes I meant 5mcg so shall I stop T3 and wait for blood tests for T4 medication or cut t3 into quarters and keep going?
Reply (0)Report
I would stop T3 now
You only need to wait another 2 weeks to test after 6 weeks on 100mcg levothyroxine
test early morning, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Also test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Likely to need to increase levothyroxine to 125mcg after test results
But see what actual results are FIRST

Massive headache on this stuff so yes good plan

You have to have all your ducks 🦆 🦆🦆in a row before even considering adding T3
All four vitamins tested and optimal
Levothyroxine dose fine tuned and settled
Previous posts several members asked ….do you have autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto’s)
Ever had both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested
If not include at next test
About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune Assuming you do ….
It’s always worth trying strictly gluten free diet
But get coeliac blood test done BEFORE cutting gluten out
And few months later try dairy free too

ok will stop for now as feeling terrible on this at the moment.
I was tested for hashimotos years ago and nothing showed up but may try again .
Not sure about TPO and thyroid antibodies - I have just had thyroid bloods at Genova and hormones at Marion Gluck so I probably do but not sure what they are called - can you let me know ?
I have had celiac test and it was negative
Trying to cut out dairy from today and will see

TPO and TG antibodies
Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies
Thyroglobulin antibodies
It’s going to take several months to slowly recover from stopping levothyroxine
You need to be patient
Come back with new post once you get thyroid and vitamin results after 6 weeks on 100mcg levothyroxine

Does this show hashimotos please ?
This was on 150 levo now on 125 and will get blood tests soon

you said in previous posts you are now on 100mcg ?
How long have you been on 125mcg levothyroxine
Which brand
About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease, usually diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies
NHS only tests TG antibodies if TPO antibodies are high
Significant minority of Hashimoto’s patients only have high TG antibodies and unless test privately won’t know
Autoimmune thyroid disease with goitre is Hashimoto’s
Autoimmune thyroid disease without goitre is Ord’s thyroiditis.
Both are autoimmune and generally called Hashimoto’s.
Also 20% of Hashimoto's patients never have raised antibodies ..so if both antibodies are negative get ultrasound scan of thyroid

Assuming it is autoimmune…..Gluten intolerance is often a hidden issue
Request coeliac blood test BEFORE considering trial on strictly gluten free diet

sorry been on 125 for last few weeks - just not sure If i have hashimotos - I wetnt up to 125 just after goi g to 100 so been nearly 4 weeks - sorry really trying to get this right

so retest 6-8 weeks after being on constant unchanging dose and brand levothyroxine
Test early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
You need to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 then as well

Make sure your name and DOB not showing
yes….Both antibodies appear to be negative……but obviously might have been positive in the past
Have you ever had ultrasound scan of thyroid?
