Hi again,

I just received my results for my cortisol saliva test and it looks concerning to me - can anyone shed any light?

I assume this is why I struggle with T3?

I really don't think it does bring it back up to the feed. I know that works on some forums, but not on this one.

😉 This is the first forum site I've ever used and I don't find it very intuitive, quite often someone points out something that I've never noticed before! (Usually tattybogle who is excellent at explaining these things) 🤗

Well, HU isn't the best platform, I think everyone agrees on that! Far too complicated. And always going wrong! 🤣🤣🤣 It would help if they didn't keep trying to 'improve' it - i.e. changing things for no good reason.

I'm still learning about this myself, but from my limited understand thus far, if your cortisol is mostly in range (apart from your spike at lunch time) and DHEA and ratio are quite low, as yours is, it can mean the HPA axis is starting to struggle/an early indicator of evolving dysfunction as a response to prolonged stress. humanbean is much more knowledgeable so may be able to advise, also suggested this website to me, which you might find useful for interpreting: rt3-adrenals.org/cortisol_t...

Sorry out of my depth on this one. All I remember was Dr P & Dr S used to disagree on adrenals. Dr P said adrenals needed support before treatment Dr S said it would self correct with thyroid treatment. In the end I went with Dr P & took an adrenal glandular for a couple of years, weabed of it after that. That was sufficient for me.

my endo is going to give me adrenal support and DHEA so hopefully will help stress and anxiety

Hi Eeyore I was but was signed off as stable after a few years so GP took over care. So far they haven't messed with my NDT meds....but I keep them on a tight leash!! 😂😉

It was a glandular adrenal. However its no longer made am afraid.

Looking at Open Prescribing it is extremely rare to get DHEA via the NHS 😕

yeah I’m holding my breath for the NHS to cover it, but I need it for a little while so will have to pay for it myself if needs be

I don't know how it works with private scripts presumably they just charge you for it at the pharmacy??

Then you need to hope your GP will pick up and run with it but I think it is over their heads

These are supplements and then the DHEA which will be prescribed - probably privately.

I notice it states some DHEA in the formula of Energy Mulitplex so does that mean it has to be prescribed too? Even more B12 than Thorne Basic B!

Interesting it has no ashwagandha like so many of the others do

No, it's not prescribed, can get off Nutrined in the netherlands. The HPA Control has ashwaghanda and rhodiola Rosea so all bases covers it seems.

Good that the ashwagandha is separate as with it being a nightshade it can irritate
