Good morning all! I have been taking B-Right for a while now (few months) taking it when I remember really but not with my levo! On Thursday I took it just before lunch and about 20mins later I had a Niacin flush! Not nice as basically felt like a allergic reaction 😞 a bit worrying! I took a antihistamine and it settled! Has anyone had this flush? I now have to discontinue them so is there a suitable replacement?

many thanks.

Ps. I have taken on a empty stomach before (I know I shouldn’t have) and had no problems.

Strange that should happen when you've already been taking it for a while with no problem.

It's not one we see suggested here on the forum, I do remember a good while back that there were a few members who didn't get on with it.

You could try Thorne Basic B which many members are happy with, or a more recent one becoming popular is this one from Amazon, a liposomal B Complex which is better value and doesn't seem to go out of stock like Thorne does, I've changed from Thorne to this one:

Many years ago I took niacin and experienced the ‘flush’. I was told it was to be expected and that after a few doses/days, it would pass. It did. I was told it was a sign it was working.

Maybe you needed a steady supply to bring you up to speed. Vitamins and minerals can take take months to ‘recover’ if you have gone into deficit. You may now need to keep it there with a good B complex. No idea about the one you mention but I know it’s not a good idea to let B vits become unco-ordinated. Too much of one literally causes a deficit in others. How we manage to maintain this levelling is not always simple.

Not what you're looking for?
