Unexpected High Results

Just received my wife’s Thyroid results back and they were way too high.

Last December her Ft3 was 4.62 (3.1-6.8) and Ft4 18.7 (12-22) with TSH 0.07

Now her Ft3 is 10.1 (3.1-6.8) and Ft4 33.2 (12-22) with TSH 0.005

* She was on 50mcg Levo before and we increased it to 75mcg….

Was wondering why such a big jump in her numbers. And insight would be appreciated. Gonna decrease her dose straight away cause it’s way too high, though she said she feels fine. No hyper symptoms at all 🤷‍♂️

When was last dose of Levo before the test (it should be 24 hours before)?

Does she take Biotin or B Complex supplements and if so was this left off for 3-7 days before the test?

Last tool her Levo 24 hours before bloods and stopped b complex about two weeks before the test.

Has she had Covid recently

It’s always a possibility. Symptoms are mild and she’s been feeling a little unwell the last few days.

Does she have Hashi's? Those results look like a Hashi's 'hyper' swing.

She didn’t when we tested her antibodies in 2021.

I have those swings, I have hashimotos, I’ve only just realised but often my free t3 I will be around 5 then up at 10 next time I test Having expanded the tests I get alongside the thyroid panel I notice when I’m high on ft3 I’m also high on antibodies and inflammation. Has your wife ever had inflammation and vitamins tested? I do that a couple of times a year with thriva and they have a system where you can add on other results from e.g. GP and you can then see them all on a graph over time.

Also maybe a bit personal but want to say well done for supporting your wife with this it can be really lonely and draining, having a supportive partner will help

Thanks for the reply and sharing your situation. Don’t think she has Hashis so I think the big jump in her number is a little odd. CRP tested 2021 was low but that was a long time ago so probably need to test again along with other stuff. Vits and mins were kind of mid range back then. Though Ferritin was above range and TIBC was top of the range.

I try and manage my families health issues as much as possible. Been let down so many times at the doctors I try and avoid them as much as possible as they seems to do more harm than good!
