Hurrah! I emailed with a nice chap called Yuri who was surprised when I pointed out they were offering less in the 'ultimate' thyroid test compared to Medichecks. I forget how much their original package was now. Hopefully they will add Vit D too but as they are just starting up the lab they were still waiting on the machine for it to begin.
They have offered to price match Medichecks + throw in the blood draw for free. ❤️
Not yet but probably in the next fortnight. They said the D3 analyser will arrive in April but it's already late so maybe in 2 weeks they might have that? I hope anyway.
yes, we were working on the ultimate panel last week, to match what people are actually asking for, so the new one was released this morning, it's gradually updating on the servers. It has 9 biomarkers which should cover everything that is generally asked for. We are planning to add Vitamin D a little later on, we are still in the process of clinical validation, it takes a while for each biomarker. You can see the updated panel here: onedaytests.com/products/ul..., if the old one is showing up it should get updated by the end of the day from 7 to 9 biomarkers.
I wish we had something similar up in the North East. If you want a blood draw it costs quite a bit extra, appointment book three weeks in advance and no early mornings. It’s not a well organised service. I see the Nuffield’s price includes the blood draw. I might try that next time when I find out a bit more. Interestingly no endocrinology service. I wonder if that’s got anything to do with how tightly controlled endocrinology is ‘contained’ here?
It’s the Medichecks/Superdrug clinic I use. The one in the Metrocentre. I use it because I can get parked nearer to the clinic than going into Newcastle itself. You can’t get around Newcastle now if you are disabled and so far I have refused to get a wheelchair. Very very annoyed the dumplings in the Council do not think (even when it’s put right in front of them that not every disabled person is in a wheelchair) about the ‘frail’ when organising their schemes. They seem to think that just saying the words equates the doing! The Nuffield have parking on the premises, or I can at least be dropped off at their front door. There is a totally private service too but last time I looked it was £60 just for the blood draw alone. That seems outrageous. All because the NHS can’t see how important it is to check actual levels of hormones.
