I have been on thyroid medication for many years. I recently have had a baby 12 days ago. Is it possible to go hyperthyroid once the baby is born? Has this happened to anyone?
I have been struggling with hyper symptoms (not sleeping, panic/anxiety, diarrhea, etc). after the baby was born. Not sure if it's other hormones or if it could be due to my hashimoto's and maybe becoming hyper?
Does anyone have any info on this?? What have other's experiences been after giving birth in regards to their thyroid?? Did the thyroid dose need to be adjusted?

Could very well be that you're having a Hashi's 'hyper' swing - temporary hyperthyroidism. It very often happens that women develop Hashi's during pregnancy and it starts with a 'hyper' swing. So seems to me logical that giving birth could trigger a swing in someone who already has Hashi's. But, I can't speak from experience because I hadn't been diagnosed at the time of my three pregnancies. Have they not given you a blood test since giving birth?
Oh poor you, just when you should be enjoying baby ☹️.
It could be postpartum thyroiditis. Tell your GP how you are feeling and ask for thyroid hormones to be tested as you might need med dose adjustments.
The immune system has to make huge changes to accommodate baby and then try returning to ‘normal’ after birth. If there is a Hashi tendency, it is commonly revealed during this period.
Postpartum can reverse suddenly or over many months or not at all, so labs and meds will need monitoring.
