t3 gone down with dose increase?

Feb. Ft3 5.56(3.1-6.1)

March 5.20 with 12.50mcg increase of Levo. . Why is that?

Feb, FT4 15.00 (12-22) . March 15.80

TSH Feb 0.05. March 0.04.

I am on t3 15 and t4 87.5 a day.

I would expect t3 to have gone up as well as t4 not down, or I not converting well?

It might just be me being particularly foggy today but I'm struggling to understand whats what with the way the numbers have been laid out.

You also haven't given reference ranges for each test which are essential as they vary from lab to lab.

In a way ours is not to reason why. When I began Levo and was titrating upwards my TSH rose one time after a dose increase. When you give the body more thyroid hormone it changes how it works and the coping mechanism that the body has put in place are no longer needed. The aim is always the same though to get FT4 & FT3 to around 70% of their ranges.

What are you supplementing & what were your latest blood results for ferritin, folate, B12 & D3?

I have edited it. Hope it makes sense now.

Current results

Free T4 (fT4) 15.8 pmol/L (12 - 22) 38.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.2 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 56.8%

Previous results

Free T4 (fT4) 15 pmol/L (12 - 22) 30.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.56 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 66.5%

So the difference in the two results is due to 12.5mcg levo being added, which was the right thing to do as your FT4 was on the low side. You may need to add some more though as your FT4 is still below 50% and most people need both FT4 & FT3 to be around 60-70% of their ranges. There's plenty of scope for your FT3 to come back up with more added Levo.

Many people in this group on combination treatment are on around 100 to 125 Levo+ 15T3 so your levo dose is on the low side still.

Did you feel any difference with the added 12.5mcgs?

To use our thyroid hormone effectively we need OPTIMAL vitamin levels.

Not feeling great. Feel jumpy and a bit hyper with palpitations. Tinnitus worse. Dry skin improved and not feeling unsteady on my feet.

Only been on synthetic 2/3 months.

Endo did not want to increase at all but my GP authorised the 12.5 Levo increase as I had hypo symptoms. Unsteady on my feet, felt drunk, tinnitus, hair falling out no energy, very very dry skin.

Vits will be tested with next thyroid test.

The vitamin results will be important but the fact remains you're likely still hypo.
